In a monumental step forward for community growth, Habitat for Humanity of Collin County has joined forces with the City of McKinney and the McKinney Community Development Corporation (MCDC) to kick off construction for their 100th Habitat house in McKinney. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for June 17, 11 a.m., at 913 Hamilton St.
McKinney’s respected Mayor, George Fuller, is set to kick off the event with an inaugural speech, during which he will present a proclamation to commemorate this commendable accomplishment. The Mayor will personally extend a warm welcome to the McFarland-Gayle family, who are set to become valued additions to the McKinney community.
City Council members Patrick Cloutier and Charlie Phillips, staunch advocates of this landmark project, will be present at the ceremony. Notably, the audience can look forward to enlightening comments from MCDC Board Chair Angela Richardson-Woods on the crucial part affordable housing has in fostering an all-inclusive community in McKinney.
